Feature 1: RMA improvements
Impact area:
Sales module
Introduction:
The RMA module in DEAR allows you to configure your organisation’s return policies, which are then used to streamline returns decision-making and automate much of the returns workflow. Our RMA module is currently in beta and is regularly updated and improved by the DEAR development team.
In this release we have added the following improvements:
- Add notes and attachments to return orders and RMA orders: A Notes field has been added to the order header for return orders and RMA orders. Additionally an Attachments tab has been added to both return orders and RMA orders where images and documents can be attached.
- (Fix) Products repaired and returned to client retains same warranty #: Previously, when a product was repaired and returned to the customer then the system would create a new warranty. This is not correct and the behaviour has been corrected so that products repaired and returned retain the same warranty. No further user action is required.
Pre-conditions:
- Configure return settings

Feature 2: Maintain original Stock Received Date when transferring stock between locations
Impact area:

Introduction:
Previously to this release, when stock was transferred between locations the Stock Received Date would be replaced by the Transfer Completion Date, which did not suit the needs of some of our customers. With this release, a setting has been added allowing customers to either keep this functionality or to maintain the original Stock Received Date for transferred stock.
Pre-conditions:
- None
Functionality:
- Go to Settings → General Settings → Products & Measurements and scroll to Update Stock Received Date with Transfer Completion Date.
- Enable the setting to use the new functionality, no further user action is required.

Feature 3: Create purchase order directly from sale order for entire sale when some products are out of stock
Impact area:
Sale module, product module
Introduction:
Previously to this release, the system checks stock availability when authorising a sale order, and if no stock is available, suggest backordering the out of stock items or creating a purchase order for the out of stock items. With this release, users can also create purchase orders from sales orders for items that are currently in stock as well as backordered items.
Pre-conditions:
- Purchase orders can be created for a single supplier only. To order products from multiple suppliers, use the backorder feature.
- Some items in the order must be out of stock.
Functionality:
- Create a sale order from Sale → New Simple/Advanced sale and enter the customer and order details
- When authorising the sale, the system checks if there is enough stock available to complete the order. If not enough stock is available, the user can choose to backorder, create a purchase order for the out of stock items, or create a purchase order for the entire order.
- Select Create Purchase Order and select either:
- For backordered: Opens a new purchase order containing the out of stock quantities required to fulfill the sale order.
- For entire sale: Opens a new purchase order containing all of the items in the sale order.
- Product quantities can be edited and product lines removed. Any products not included in the purchase order can be backordered if required. The document header and supplier will be blank and must be filled in by the user.
- Authorising the purchase order will authorise the sale order. The purchase order will appear in the Related Orders tab of the sale order and vice versa.
NOTE:
- Purchase orders can be created for a single supplier only. To order products from further suppliers, use the backorder feature for the remaining products.
- Creation of purchase order from sale order is not applicable for:
- Production Order BOM products, Make to Order products, Family BOM products
- Assembly BOM products and Auto-Assembly BOM products, picking for kitting BOM products.
- Purchase order authorisation does not hard allocate the purchased products to the sale order. When products are received, they can be picked by other sales.

Feature 4: Advanced manufacturing module improvements
Impact area:
Advanced manufacturing module
Introduction:
DEAR’s advanced manufacturing module is aimed at addressing the needs of our customers with complex production processes. New features will provide our customers with powerful, logical manufacturing solutions to add to their inventory solution. We are continuing to improve the Advanced Manufacturing module functionality and add features. With this release, our users will be able to:
- Edit Required by date when amending production orders: Required by date of a production order can now be edited manually at any stage without needing to undo the order. This change will not recalculate any planning or scheduling or change any related documents or orders, but will affect how production orders are displayed on the Scheduler.
- Allow backdated transactions for production processes: Write off transactions and stock movements of components to WIP are triggered when a production operation starts. Transactions and stock movements of WIP to finished goods/inventory are triggered when a production operation is completed. Previously to this release, it was not possible to edit these dates. With this release, a new setting has been added to allow backdated transactions, when enabled the operation start and end date can be edited, including dates in the past.
These updates are not applicable to the WMS application.
Pre-conditions:
- Advanced Manufacturing module subscription
Functionality:
- No additional user action is required to edit Required By Date of a production order – simply select the field and enter a new date.
- Go to Settings → General Settings → Production process customisation and scroll to Allow backdated transactions.
- Enable the setting to use the new functionality. Operation Start Date and Operation End Date can now be edited for production orders.

No user action is required.
