FEATURES: Review Amazon Settlements data in DEAR, consolidate sales by Amazon settlement for export to Xero, native integrations with Faire and Authorize.net, and more!

Feature 1: Review Amazon Settlements file in DEAR

Impact area:

Amazon Integration

Introduction:

Amazon generates Settlement Reports for its sellers, providing breakdowns of Item Price, Amazon commission fees, shipping fees, and total amount earned by the seller – detailed information of a seller’s account activity for the settlement period. Approximately every two weeks, Amazon will deposit the sales money, minus charges for Amazon fees, in the seller’s Amazon account directly into the seller’s bank account.

Amazon generates a report (Amazon Settlements Report) detailing these fees at approximately two-week intervals. The fees can then be processed manually by the user or automatically by DEAR. Previously, DEAR did not have the capability to view the transactions listed in the Amazon settlement file via DEAR. With this release, merchants will be able to review details of sales and fee transactions in Amazon settlement files via DEAR.

Pre-conditions:

  • Active Amazon integration

Functionality:

  • Go to the Amazon Settlement files tab (Integration → Amazon → [select store] → Amazon Settlement files) to view downloaded files. DEAR checks daily whether an Amazon settlement file is available and will load it automatically. Generally, you do not need to trigger manual load of settlement data, however, if a file was not captured by DEAR or to load historical settlement data, you can use the manual Load Settlement Data option.
  • If you have Process Amazon Settlements Report Automatically enabled (Integration → Amazon → [select store] → Setup), settlement files will be processed automatically and your accounting records updated with the relevant transactions. If the setting is disabled, you will have to trigger manual processing of settlement files.
  • Click Review to open a pop up window and show the details of each transaction in a settlements file, as well as COGs information. Account and tax rules of the transactions can be edited if necessary.

Feature 2: Consolidate exports to Xero by Amazon Settlement

Impact area:

Xero Integration, Amazon integration

Introduction:

Previously to this release, DEAR would download and process each Amazon transaction to DEAR as an individual transaction. This leads to additional overhead work for accountants to reconcile Amazon transactions when they are synced with Xero and DEAR. While it is possible to consolidate sales exports to Xero, the options available did not match up with the Amazon settlement period. With this release, DEAR has introduced a new consolidation option for Amazon transactions exporting to Xero based on the settlement period and settlement report.

Pre-conditions:

  • Accounts with Xero Integration only
  • Go to Integration → Amazon → [select store] → Setup and set Xero Synchronisation mode to Consolidate as settlement report
    • NOTE: If Xero sync mode on Amazon setup is Sync individual sales, sales from Amazon can still be consolidated from Xero integration following instructions of Xero Integration – Consolidating Sales on Export. If Xero sync mode on Amazon setup is Consolidate as settlement report, this will take priority over consolidation settings of Xero integration.

Functionality:

  • Go to the Amazon Settlement files tab (Integration → Amazon → [select store] → Amazon Settlement files) to view downloaded files.
  • Click Review to open a pop up window and show the details of each transaction in a settlements file, as well as COGs information. Account and tax rules of the transactions can be edited if necessary.
  • When you have reviewed the transactions and made any edits if applicable, you can click Confirm sync with Xero. This will sync the settlement file data with Xero at the next manual or automatic sync.

Feature 3: Native integration with FAIRE (eCommerce platform)

Impact area:

Sales module, Integrations module

Introduction:

With this release, DEAR allows native integration with Faire. Faire, which is four years old, now serves more than 40,000 local retailers in the United States and that number is growing rapidly. By today FAIRE has added more than 400 international artisans and vendors from 39 countries to its wholesale offerings.

Faire combines the buying power of thousands of mom-and-pop shops across the U.S, to get its participating stores favorable pricing. It also gives them what it describes as risk-free ordering, by allowing them to return items that don’t sell well in their stores.

Pre-conditions:

  • Apply and register an account as a Faire brand for the e-store.
  • Provide FAIRE with the account owner, company and contact information. After an application is accepted, the customer will be provided with a Faire account, brand ID, API access token and personal e-shop web-page by the Faire onboarding team.
  • Prepare brand for launch on Faire marketplace (please contact Faire support for help with these steps):
    • prepare products inventory with all needed properties, statuses, products variants and pricing info
    • upload products;
    • preview the shop and make any final edits to Shop Page, Videos, Arrangement, or Shop Settings;

Feature 4: Native integration with Authorize.net (payment platform)

Impact area:

Sales module, Integrations module

Introduction:

Authorize.net is a payment gateway service provider, allowing merchants to accept credit card and electronic check payments through their website and over an Internet Protocol (IP) connection. DEAR now supports payments via Authorize.net via the B2B portal and via paylinks inserted into invoices.

NOTE: Authorize.net cannot be used for POS sales.

Pre-conditions:

  • You will need to log in as an Account Owner or Account Administrator in order to authorise the connection.
  • An active DEAR account created in a currency supported by Authorize.net. Please refer “Countries supported by Authorize.net” section for additional details.
  • Enable Customer Information Manager (CIM) in Authorize.net – When an invoice is created, it will create a customer profile automatically giving you the opportunity to be able to store that customers information.  If you do not have CIM enabled, you will be presented with a link allowing you to enable the service before you create an Invoice.
  • You will need to generate an API Login ID and Transaction Key in Authorize.net before you can integrate the application with DEAR. Please follow instructions for detailed information.

This does not affect assembly, disassembly and job features which will still be included in the base subscription. Users who are already using the production module will retain all production information but will not be able to create new production orders until the subscription has been amended. Affected users will be notified in advance with details of how to upgrade their subscription.

Feature 6: Set predefined items for expense claims

Users can enter receipts for any spending they have incurred on behalf of the business and submit these receipts as an expense claim. With this release, users can now set predefined expense items for receipts for quicker expense claims submissions.

Pre-conditions:

  • Accounts without Xero integration

Functionality:

  • Go to Settings → Reference Books → Financial → Expense Items.
  • Enter a name for your expense item and the account it should be charged to. These items will be available for selection when submitting an expense claim receipt.
  • When adding receipt items for an expense claim, the predefined items will be available for selection, but new items can also be entered.
